Consultation & referrals
For proponents, consultants and Crown agencies sending Aspen Ridge First Nation a referral, notice, or request for consultation. Every submission opens a file in the Nation's consultation office and is acknowledged by the office, not by this page.
Two ways to send a referral
By email to intake-demo-aspen-ridge@nationworks.ca with documents attached (PDF preferred), or with the form below. Either way the file is date-stamped on receipt; the response window runs from that date under the protocol below.

How Aspen Ridge First Nation handles referrals
- Receipt. Every referral is date-stamped and given a file number on the day it arrives. Send to the intake email or use the form on this page.
- Screening (5 business days). The consultation coordinator screens for potential effects on Treaty and Aboriginal rights, reserve lands, and the traditional territory.
- Response window. The Nation requires 30 business days from receipt for a substantive response; complex projects (linear developments, water withdrawals, anything within 5 km of a reserve boundary or a known cultural site) require 60 business days.
- Capacity funding. Reviews that require technical or traditional-knowledge studies are conditional on capacity funding under the Nation's fee schedule, provided on request.
- Meetings. Community meetings are held on reserve; proponents are asked to attend in person.
- What a response is. A written response from the Nation states concerns, conditions, or no concerns at this time. Silence is not consent.

Submissions are stored in Canada and seen by the Nation's consultation staff. Sending a referral here does not by itself satisfy the Crown's duty to consult, and does not constitute consent.
